Each course is accepted for three (3) hours of continuing education credit. What is the course format?
Our courses are in booklet format and average 35 pages in length. After I place a download order on the Internet, when can I expect to receive my courses? DOWNLOAD ORDERS DO NOT ARRIVE AT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY UPON PLACING AN ORDER!
Do I need to mail my order to you? Only if you are paying by check or money order. Charge card orders can be placed by phone, fax, or Internet. How long does it take to receive my course(s)? Orders are processed and mailed by United States Postal Priority Mail the same day they are received and normally take 2-5 working days for delivery. Next day delivery is available for an additional charge. How long do I have to complete the course? Courses must be completed and your exam answer sheet must be received by GSC within 1 year from the date that the order is placed. How long does it take to receive my Certificate of Completion? There is up to a ten day turnaround time from the day we receive your answer sheet. Answer sheets are manually graded and certificates are promptly processed by a GSC representative. Certificates are returned the same day they are processed via US first class mail. If I am licensed in more than one state, can I receive multiple certificates? We would be happy to send you multiple certificates for the completed courses, free of charge, provided that you supply us with all license numbers needed for the certificates at the time that you enroll in your course(s) or prior to the exam being graded. There will be an extra fee for any additional certificates provided for licenses that you supply to us after your exam is graded. There is also a nominal fee for GSC to provide you with replacement copies of certificates of completion that had been previously issued. Please remember to retain your certificates for your records. Do I need to take an exam after reading a course? Yes. Each course has a 20 question post test consisting of multiple choice and true/false questions. Is there a pretest ? Yes. There is a pretest included on your answer sheet to test your knowledge of the course subject material before reading the course. The pretest does not count toward your final grade and is not graded. What is a passing grade for an exam? You must pass the post test with a score of 75% or better. Exams that do not receive a passing score will be returned for retesting. What if I do not pass my post test on the Internet? You are allowed to retake your test one additional time and if you do not pass the second time you must wait 24 hours and try again. Are test questions tricky? No. It is not our intention to make the testing process difficult or tricky. Answers to test questions should accurately reflect course content. However, problem questions sometimes do slip through the course's lengthy editorial process. Therefore, we urge our participants to complete the course evaluation and to comment if a test question in the course was perplexing during the testing process. Course evaluations are read regularly by GSC representatives and corrections to problem questions are handled in a timely manner . When I return my answer sheets for grading do I also return the course booklets? No. Please keep the booklet(s) as reference material. What kind of certification
do I receive?
You will receive a Certificate of Completion. Click here for samples of GSC's certificates of completion. Once I complete a post test exam, can the answer sheets be faxed to you? No. We need the original answer sheet mailed to us before a Certificate of Completion can be sent. You may also submit your post test answers on our web site at www.gscce.com. (There is only one exception. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences allows social workers and marriage and family therapists to fax their answer sheets) What forms of payment do you accept? GSC Home Study accepts checks, money orders and credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover Novus) My state isn't listed
for approval on the order form. How do I know if your courses
are accepted in my state?
You may call our customer service line at (800) 231-7159 or contact your state licensing authority and ask about their requirements regarding continuing education home study courses. How can I change incorrect
information that has been preprinted on my answer sheet?
If you have answer sheets with preprinted information and you plan to mail them back to GSC Home Study, please cross out the incorrect information and clearly print the correct information next to it. In addition, it is always good to put a post-it note on the answer sheets to alert the GSC representative to please make the changes. The GSC representative manually enters your changes in the computer database as part of your personal information. If you are using the GSC Home Study Internet Instant Grading option, you may make changes directly online and those changes will be transmitted and made instantly in the GSC Home Study computer database.
